The Rolls-Royce Wraith, an imperious super-coupe that will debut today at the 2013 Geneva motor show. It’s the most powerful model Rolls-Royce has ever built, and the price befits that status: the Wraith costs £250,000.
The Wraith coupe is on the basis of the Cat limo (itself centered on long-wheelbase BMW 7-series) and it employs their siblings twin-turbo 6.6-liter V12. But rather than the Ghost's 563 bhp there's a nutritious 624 bhp. And in place of 575 lb foot there is now 590 lb foot, made from only 1500 rpm. The 0-62 mph dash (sorry, waft) is dispatched in 4.6 moments, three-tenths quicker compared to Cat saloon.Besides the excess oomph, the Wraith also has a broader rear monitor and shorter wheelbase compared to Cat, and the roof line is leaner also, helping decrease the hub of gravity. Rolls says that, as well as particularly updated suspension and steering with extra weight at higher speeds, the Wraith has ‘the most effective, concerning operating experience of any Rolls-Royce ever '.
