The Mahindra Bolero is an SUV which designed to carry 7 or 10 people in it. It is available in AC and non-AC variants. This is a very popular vehicle in India. Mahindra was oriented towards utility vehicles and therefore made it their prime motive to stand up among est all other car-makers. In the present day and age, Mahindra has set a benchmark for its counterparts in the Indian automobile industry and proudly leads the battalion of utility vehicles with Bolero being highlighted as their flagship vehicle. Mahindra made most of its cars for off-road purposes and Bolero was one of their first trump-cards. Mahindra Bolero is the number one and most selling utility vehicle in India. Mahindra & Mahindra has given minor face-lift to Bolero and launched the 2012 model in Indian market. The base model of New Bolero is priced at Rs. 6.19 lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi). The new model gets revised front bumper and grille with chrome inserts. The interiors of 2012 model of Bolero are also new with digital instrument cluster, leather wrapped steering wheel, new design for seat upholstery, new steering wheel design and new gear knob. With the launch of 2012 model Mahindra has introduced a new model - ZLX. New Bolero is powered by the new 2.5 liter m2DiCR diesel engine which generates maximum power of 62 bhp with maximum torque of 195 nm. 
The basic design is based on the Mahindra Armada Grand. The first generation Bolero was equipped with a Peugeot 2.5L IDI engine which produced 75bhp. The second generation was released with slightly modified exteriors and the major change was the engine, a 2.5l in-house mill from Mahindra. It is powered by a 72 bhp (54 kW) 2523 cc turbo-charged direct injection diesel engine.
Default tires: 235/75 R15 Goodyear Wrangler radials.
Mileage 12.2 km/L (8.20 L/100 km; 29 mpg-US) fuel economy in city with AC. Mileage 14 km/L (7.1 L/100 km; 33 mpg-US) fuel economy on highway at around 80 to 100 km/h with AC.

Mahindra Bolero is a basic utility vehicle that is well-suited to Indian conditions. Even though it is based on a decades old platform, its high ground clearance makes it easier to drive on rural Indian roads.
