The Volvo XC90 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by Volvo Cars since it was unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show 2002. It is based on the P2 platform, shared with the first generation Volvo S80 and other large Volvo cars. As Volvo's top-selling vehicle in the United States, the XC90 was also Volvo's best selling model worldwide in 2005 with 85,994 cars sold. New LED daytime running lights are now standard along with LED taillights. Accenting the SUV is a new silver front bumper bar, chrome taillight trim, matte rear view mirrors, and 18-inch ‘Thalia’ wheels.
The seven-passenger XC90 now has new luxury accents such as sanded aluminum inlays, white instrumentation lighting, and a leather strap on the tailgate. Higher models receive standard sovereign hide soft leather seating surfaces, red wood inlays and gearshift knob, and executive floor mats. 
Volvo has updated the exterior look of the XC90 yet again for 2013 with a new body-color bumper-and-trim look, new bumper bright work, and LED running lamps and tail lamps, all of which make this model look more car like once again the XC90 does show its age inside, where it still shows the design direction of Volvo before it went to more minimalist layouts and thin-panel controls.
The XC90 is powered by a 3.2-liter inline-six engine with 240-hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard with all-wheel drive available as an option.
